It seems fitting with Thanksgiving happening yesterday to express a little gratitude. I am truly blessed. Eighteen years ago I was diagnosed with an auto immune disease that attacks my blood. Now many would think that tragic. I guess in some ways it is. But in many ways it's been a blessing. Through my treatments, that took place in chemo labs, I have met many wonderful people. One of whom inspired me to start Quilty Hugs.
My ITP is inactive now, for the first time in 17 years my blood counts are normal. Thankfully Quilty Hugs lives on. I'm thankful for all the wonderful quilters that give so generously to help those fighting cancer. The quilt above was made one of those giving quilters. A tutorial on how to make it can be found here. This one was also done at one of my sew ins. Still need to get it quilted. In addition to my sewing angels. I'd like to thank Sarah for her push each year through Hands2Help. Also the many quilters that send so many wonderful quilts at that time. And Kristi who sends me boxes of beautiful quilts year round. All these quilts bring so much comfort. I appreciate everyone's help so alleviate some of the suffering that goes with this terrible disease.
