Moving it Forward

I've been slapping up my scrappy rail fence blocks onto the design wall. I chain the scrappy rails. When a rail is long enough I stitch it to a gray background and admire how cute it is. I'm a little crazy that way but I do love how well my scraps play together.
The bits leftover from my scrappy pineapple have all been used and I am now diving into my bits bin. A good thing as it was overflowing. It seems to be the constant state of my scrap bins these days. Thanks to my Go and the 1 1/2" strip die I have many usable pieces in no time.
I have decided to separate the different gray backgrounds until I get more done and decide how I want to arrange them. But I have to admit I'm losing steam on this project. I love it. Don't get me wrong. I just want to make something other than rail fence blocks.
So to mix things up a bit I pulled out my Scrappy Dresden from the class I taught last year at Bryce. And made it a few more friends.
Yesterday my oldest headed back to Seattle. I miss him already. It was nice to have him home for the last few weeks. A little crazy but in a good way. With him gone and everyone back in school I'm hoping a little more sewing can get done and I'll be more regular with my posts.
Now it's your turn. What fun, creative things have you been up to this new year? Link up and share.
